The thematic exhibition " Addiction Is a Road to Nowhere" is held from September 3 to October 31 in the Periodicals reading room (room 106).

In today's world, there are thousands of problems against which mankind has learned to fight, but the most rosy picture, even in developed countries, is besmirched with drug addiction.

This problem has been discussed in the world community for a long time as a strategic one, as a result various state programs have being implemented. In recent years, the drug trafficking has increased, more and more narcotic substances have being created. Therefore, drug addiction concerns not only medical workers and crime control authorities. Any sphere, from economy to education, suffers from the accelerating rate of drug addiction of the population.

Issues on drug addiction excess incidence, combating illicit drug trafficking, and anti-drug policy of the state are touched in periodicals “Medizinskij jurnal”, “Zakonnost i pravoporyadok” etc.

Prevention of drug addiction is one of the most important tasks of a modern educational institution. The methods of work of the school in this direction will be described by articles from the magazines "Narodnaya Asveta", "Zdarovy lad zhytstsya", "Vykhavanne i dadatkovaya Adukaciya", etc.

The exhibition presents more than 30 periodicals.


The opening hours of the exhibition corresponds to the library’s opening hours.

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."
