”Doodle-sphere: the Art of Intuitive Drawing”, a subject book exhibition, runs in the circular corridor, the 3rd floor, from July 18 to September 30.

Every year, on July 22, the world is observing the Brain Day, which was established by the World Federation of Neurology for raising awareness of the importance of brain health. Regarding the date, the library has prepared a book exhibition “Doodle-sphere: the Art of Intuitive Drawing”.

Doodle, doodle art or doodling is a modern trend in fine arts, available to anyone who wants to feel like an artist. The very concept of doodling has appeared recently in the meaning of scribble that people instinctively draws during boring meetings or telephone conversations. By unconsciously running a pencil on paper, you can create complex compositions of simple lines and dots. The sample is not specified in advance, but arises spontaneously, transforming from separate pieces into a solid composition. Later, this free self-expression began to be used in art therapy, as such creativity frees the head from unnecessary emotions and thoughts, develops creativity and creative view of the world.

The exhibition presents over 40 documents, including books about art therapy, various techniques of doodling, and also coloring albums with drawings in this style.

Very interesting is a publication “Gogol. Turgenev. Dostoevsky: when the Image Is at the Service of the Word”. The album opens a series of books about writers, whose talent of writing combines with the ability of drawing. The centerpiece of the exhibition is in every respect, a book “Adventures of Tchichikov, or the Dead Souls”, published in Moscow, 1846. The cover design is based on the sketches of the author, Nicolay Gogol.

The opening hours of the exhibition correspond to the opening hours of the library.
Entrance to the exhibition is available by the library ticket or ticket of the library's social and cultural center.
