From 4 October to 10 December, an exhibition "Culture of Belarus: traditions and prospects" dedicated to the Day of Culture (14 October) runs at the National Library of Belarus (2nd floor, circular corridor).
Belarusian culture has retained its originality and is referred to the common European cultural heritage and contemporary world culture. Nowadays development of culture is one of the priorities of the state policy. Culture is a soul, pride and glory of the Belarusian people, it unites and exalts a nation, retains a native value of humanity.
The exhibition offered by the National Library of Belarus presents about 200 documents which have been collected for last five years, including reference books and encyclopedias, textbooks, monographs, collections of articles, albums, booklets on the history and current state of the culture of our country.
A separate section of the exhibition – "Nesvizh is a cultural capital of Belarus in 2012" – is dedicated to the beautiful ancient town. Nesvizh became the third (after Polotsk and Gomel) town which got an honorary status of the cultural capital of Belarus. Within the project "The Cultural Capital" in 2012 its main event was an official opening of the Radziwill palace (The Palace and Castle Ensemble in Niasvizh) after its restoration. During this year the best creative projects: Professional theatrical forum "Urszula Radziwill’s Theatre", exhibitions of the Radziwills’ exclusive early printed editions of 16th – 18th centuries, ancient maps of Belarus, collections of historic costumes. Nesvizh became the center of such cultural events of Belarus as concerts of early music sounded in palaces and mansions, performances of the Bolshoi Theater in the Radziwill Palace, the 17th Festival of Arts "The Muses of Nesvizh", noble feast in the Radziwill Palace, the Night of Museums in the Radziwill Palace, a festival of medieval culture "Knights in the old Grand Duchy of Nesvizh", presentation of musical project "The Golden Collection of Belarusian Songs".
