From March 4th to April 30th, a thematic exhibition “Computer era” runs in the Periodicals reading room (auditorium 106).


Personal computers are considered as a grandiose scientific and technical revolution equitable to the invention of radio. Why? The matter is that old computers were unavailable to mass user, and only specialists could work on them. The birth of personal computers has made them a mass tool.

The personal computer has considerably changed the methods of routine and creative work in almost all the spheres of human life and activity. The introduction of computers in systems of technical management, public health and administration is quite natural today. These urgent questions of today are covered in periodicals on display: Computer-Press, You and Your Computer, The PC World, Computer Newspaper etc.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of the People's writer of Belarus, publicist and screenwriter Vasil Vladimirovich Bykov.
On this occasion, the National Library has prepared an anniversary exhibition "Soldier's fate", which highlights the great influence on the work of the Belarusian writer of his participation in the Great Patriotic War.
