The National Library of Belarus presents a book exhibition "Independent Belarus - our Common and Solid Home" dedicated to the Republic of Belarus Independence Day.
July 3 is a particular date in the history and fate of Belarusian people. Belarusian people got their freedom at the cost of improbable victims and destructions. This event commemorates heroic deeds of those who sacrificed their lives for the independence of our Fatherland. That because Belarusian people regards the day of liberation of Minsk city as the date of the main holiday of the country - the Republic of Belarus Independence Day.
The NLB organized the book exhibition "Gratitude for the Triumphant May!" dedicated to the Great Victory. The exhibition "Independent Belarus - our Common and Solid Home" which is open from July 01, 2007 to July 31, 2007 is timed to the Republic Day. At the exhibition are exposed over 150 materials which present a hard and long historical way to the statehood and sovereignty of Belarus. The exposed materials cover the main components of Belarusian state ideology, issues of constitutional right of the Republic of Belarus, activity of political institutions and non-government organizations, as well the main components of the national idea of "building of a powerful and flourishing Belarus". Powerful and flourishing Belarus is the best monument to those who have fallen for their country, those who fought for the independence of our Fatherland.
