On the eve of the Independence Day of Belarus (3 July), the National Library offers a subject book exhibition “Belarus Today” (24 June – 31 August, 2nd floor, circular hall).


The offered exhibition includes editions about the development of the State system of Belarus, the current state of the country, its social, economic, scientific and cultural achievements, foreign policy and external economic links. The exhibition reveals the best Belarusian traditions and the unique natural resources of the country. Readers and visitors can familiarize themselves with the newest books published by Belarusian publishing houses in last three years.

The exhibition structure:

  • section “The country of Belarus” includes editions on the history of Belarus, social and political literature about the current state and the ways of development of the republic;
  • section “The lovely images of my native land” is dedicated to Belarusian forest reserves, the beauty and diversity of Belarusian nature and environment protection. The section comprises sources on national parks and forest reserves.
  • section “The modern portrait of Belarusian culture and arts” presents books about the country’s cultural and historical heritage, architectural monuments and sights; encyclopedias, photo albums, booklets reflecting its attractive image.

The exhibition is designed for all who are interested in the development and the current state of Belarus.

Adam Shanyavsky and the library fund of the Nesvizh county school (the last quarter of the XVIII century)

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."
