From August 3, 2009 to August 18, 2009, in the Belarusian Literature Reading Room (room 205) is open a book exhibition “An open-hearted confession” dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Belarusian poet Alyes (Alexander Sergeevich) Staver (1929–1995).




Alyes
Staver dedicated his poems to his native land, everyday life and holidays of countryfolk, heroic history of Belarusian people, youth and love. His poetry is remarkable for folk tunes and melodiousness. Many works by Alyes Staver were translated into Polish, Ukrainian, Armenian and other languages.

At the exhibition are displayed more than 80 publications: books by Alyes Staver, both poetry and prose as well as children’s books written by the author; works by the author published in different journals and series; works by Alyes Staver translated into foreign languages, and publications in journals, series and encyclopedias dedicated to the author’s life and creative work.

Adam Shanyavsky and the library fund of the Nesvizh county school (the last quarter of the XVIII century)

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."
