From August 3, 2009 to August 18, 2009, in the Belarusian Literature Reading Room (room 205) is open a book exhibition “An open-hearted confession” dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Belarusian poet Alyes (Alexander Sergeevich) Staver (1929–1995).
Alyes Staver dedicated his poems to his native land, everyday life and holidays of countryfolk, heroic history of Belarusian people, youth and love. His poetry is remarkable for folk tunes and melodiousness. Many works by Alyes Staver were translated into Polish, Ukrainian, Armenian and other languages.
