The Belarussian literature reading room (205) is hosting the exhibition “A Sparkling Sun of Neman River Area”, dedicated to the 100th-years anniversary since the birth date a famous Belarussian critic, literary scholar, prose writer Vladimir Andreevich Kolesnik (1922-1994).
The writer had an interesting personality, and all the time had been in the center of the literature activity. He was doing research of the West Belarussian literature having disclosed it as a public and esthetic phenomenon in the literature of the 1920s. The circle of a researcher’s creative hobbies also included ancient literature, folk art, modern poetry and prose. Vladimir Kolesnik’s works stand out by a high level of culture, depth of the research-type thinking, passion for objectivity and variety of the research, ability to reproduce life creative portraits of public and literature figures.
The exposition will introduce the visitors to the writer’s rich literature heritage. The books with literature portraits and feature articles will evoke interest either: “The Known by the Destiny”, “Creating the legend”, “All the human”, the documentary narrative “The Prometheus’ messenger”, his critical works “Poetry of the fight: Maksim Tank and the West Belarussian literature”, “The Odysseys’ sails: Vladimir Zhilka and a romantic tradition in the Belarussian poetry”, “Yanka Bryl: a feature article on life and creative work” and other. The documentary book “I’m from the village in the fire…” (jointly with A. Adamovich and Ya. Kozyrek) and the writer’s abstract “The debt of the memory” will not leave the visitors untouched in the Year of historical memory.
The literature about the writer’s life and creative path supplements the exhibition.
