On 4 December, 2008, at the gallery “Rakurs” of the National Library of Belarus took place the opening ceremony of the "Universum".

The major task of the project is to reveal multiple talents in the artistic circles of Belarus. Therefore all who presents their works of art to the audience have had to manifest their talents in show business as well.

During the opening ceremony all authors-participants of the multiproject have shown their skills in music. Then the opening of an art exhibition has been held. It presents about 160 works made by participants of the music program in different genres: graphics, painting, applied art, installation and photo.

The exposition is located in all three galleries: “Rakurs”, “Labyrinth” and “Atrium”. Landscapes, portraits, subject compositions, installations, paper carvings and collages are on display.

The musical program has gathered popular Belarusian folk groups “Palace”, “Horcica”, “Dzivasil” and “Nagual”, and also graphic artist and bard Aleksey Lyapin; known artist, collector rock musician Andrey Plesanov; architect, poet and composer Stanislav Fedchenko; pianist- concertmaster, member of the Union of Composers and the Union of Artists член Vsevolod Gritskevich; painter, musician and concertmaster of the Academy of Music Natalya Kapshay-Mironova; poet, graphic artist and author of dance performances Olga Dvornikova.

In the event have participated head of the Social and cultural center of the National Library of Belarus S.I. Sheremetyev, head of the Galleru and exhibition division F.A. Yastreb and member of the Union of Composers and the Union of Artists V. Gritskevich.

The project has been not only successful but also very promising: it is expected that next year the contest will gather participants from Italy, Hungary, Germany, Poland and other countries.
