The international exhibition "The Eighth Day" was opened in the Library on February 20.

The event is organized by the National Library of Belarus and the international public association Sojuz masterov-mirotvorzev “Svet” (Union of Masters-Peacekeepers "Svet").

The days of creation and rest have gone. And the eighth day, the day of taking responsibility, working together on creation of a life-affirming model of our world and our own destiny, has come. Every act, word, thought are interconnected by thousands of relationships with other people and influence all events of our reality. How we manifest ourselves in this world, that's how it becomes, and if we want to change something in it, we should start with ourselves.

This important idea was reflected by participants of the exhibition project "The Eighth Day" in their works. They are Belarusian masters of contemporary fine and decorative art, as well as artists from Russia and Kazakhstan. Photoprints, batik, painting, birch-bark applications: every work carries its own intention and reflects the author's relationship to the world around him.

The exposition also represents works made by pupils of Republican Children's Rehabilitation Center in Minsk. Rich in color, bright and diverse in technique, they remind adults of the amazing ability of children to feel this world finely and see its beauty, regardless of external circumstances.

Olga Davidovich, head of the Gallery and Exhibition Department of the National Library of Belarus, the exhibition curator, Olesya Inozemtseva, deputy chairman of the Sojuz masterov-mirotvorzev “Svet” (Union of Masters-Peacekeepers "Svet") and Alexandra Dyatlova, head of the department of arts and crafts of the Belarusian State Academy of Arts, a member of the Belarusian Union of Artists and Sojuz masterov-mirotvorzev “Svet” (Union of Masters-Peacekeepers "Svet").

The special atmosphere of the vernissage was created due to the young talented artists’ performances Anna Dik, Sophia Khodnevich, Lilia Khatskevich, Oleg Kruchinin, Elena Mashkovskaya and Daniil Osnovich.
You can see works plenty of harmony and goodness in the “Labyrinth” Gallery until April 12, 2018.

The opening hours of the exhibition corresponds to the library’s opening hours.
Entrance to the exhibition is available by the library ticket or ticket of the library's social and cultural center.
