The exhibition prepared by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus, the National Library of Belarus and the Minsk State Art College named after A.K. Glebov presents more than 40 plein-air paintings performed by students during the last two years.
“Today we are summing up the plein-air sessions for 2013-2014. During this time our students have visited Carpathians, Bulgaria, Poland and many significant places of Belarus”, – Alexander Shantarovich, director of the Minsk State Art College named after A.K. Glebov said having thanked people who had arranged these plein-airs.
Fine art studies in the open air create a vivid and artistic atmosphere. By performing etudes, students improve the level of their professional activity and independence, and develop their artistic initiative. During plein-air sessions students of the college open new sides of their talent by feeling other rhythm of life, seeing the unusual in each moment, and touching the nature and the history.
According to Vasily Golovan, leading expert of the Department for creative youth affairs at the Ministry of Culture of Belarus, a significant part of graduates of the college successfully work as sculptors, artists and designers. “I hope the college will keep on making its powerful contribution to the development of our national culture”, – he told.
Representatives of other organizations congratulated the college on the exhibition opening. The solemn atmosphere at the event was maintained with a string quartet of the Belarusian State Academy of Music.
