The opening of the art exhibition "Service to the Native Land", dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus and the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders was held on February 7 in the "Rakurs" gallery (2nd floor).
Sketches of military action, portraits are main genres represented at the exhibition. All authors are members of the Military Artists Studio at the Central House of Officers.
At the opening ceremony of the exhibition, the Director of the National Library of Belarus Roman Motulsky spoke about the importance of art in the life of every person and wished the military artists success in their creative path.
Colonel, Head of the Department of Ideological Work of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Makarov stressed that the exhibition reflects the modern Belarusian army, and thanked the National Library of Belarus for its cooperation.
A veteran, first deputy chairman of the Minsk City Veterans Organization, retired colonel Viktor Kostko. He expressed his thoughts about the history of the country and remembered the military merits of the Belarusian people in the Great Patriotic War.
Head of the studio of military artists, Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus Nikolai Opiok spoke about the talented people serving our Native Land and congratulated the colleagues and guests of the event on the 100th anniversary of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus and the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.
A musical and poetic performance by the chief director of the Dramatic Theater of the Belarusian Army Igor Filchenkov, dedicated to the combat service of the soldiers,
At the end of the event, guests could see the exposition.
You can visit the exhibition in the gallery "Rakurs" (2nd floor) until April 20, 2019.
