On May 20th, at 5 p.m. in the gallery “Panorama” takes place the opening ceremony of the painting and computer graphics exhibition “The cornflower in new format”.

The event dedicated to the International Children’s Day is the joint project of the National Library of Belarus, the Administration of Education of Minsk Regional Executive Committee, and Minsk Regional Special Comprehensive Boarding-School for Hearing Impaired Children in Zhdanovochi village.

The exhibition, which presents works performed by attendants of the art studio "Cornflower" in Minsk Regional Special Comprehensive Boarding-School for Hearing Impaired Children, is part of the project “Painting and art-technologies in drawings of physically impaired children”.

The art studio "Cornflower" has been founded more than 15 years ago. Study of art offers a unique opportunity to develop the aesthetic culture of physically impaired children and furthers their social adaptation and psychological rehabilitation. Deaf children possess a delicate visual perception, therefore their imagination is different, non-standard, and they picture the world in bright colors and subtle shades.

At the exhibition “The cornflower in new format” the young artists will present their paintings, watercolors and computer graphics. Within the framework of the event, pupils of the Boarding-School will perform the hand-language songs; artists of the people’s theatre “Rukh” will show pantomimes.

The exhibition will be open till June 3rd in the gallery “Panorama” (the indoor observation platform on the 22nd floor). Entrance to the Observation platform is paid, including the cost of the exhibition.

On the opening day entrance to the exhibition is free of charge.
