The art exhibition "Graphic poetry" by Leonid Marchenko officially opened in the library, on October 3.
In everyone’s life there are moments when you want to stop the time and take a break, get away from city life and become absorbed in the search for harmony. The art exhibition of Leonid Marchenko, which has opened at the National Library, offers a great opportunity to do it here and now.
The etchings and watercolors reflect the talent of the artist and his fondness for Belarus and his home area in Bobruysk region. The art of Leonid Marchenko is a continuation of a touching and emotional personality of the master, reflection of his vision and subtle sense of all that is happening around. Perhaps, this is why we are so tempted by his picturesque landscapes, simple and yet so vivid and natal. The artist’s graphic works – the etching triptych My Land of Lakes or the cycles Pines, The Land and People – are full of poetry, lyricism and tenderness.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Vice Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus Irina Driga, the deputy director of the National Library of Belarus Tatyana Kuzminich, the graphic artist and chairman of the Belarusian Union of Artists Gregory Sitnitsa, the art critic and member of the Belarusian Union of Artists and the Belarusian Union of Journalists Galia Fotykhova, the editor in chief of children’s magazine Vyasyolka, writer Vladimir Lipsky, the painter and graphic artist, member of the Belarusian Union of Artists Sergei Volkov, the composer, people’s artist of Belarus Igor Luchenok, the art critic and member of the Belarusian Union of Artists Nina Marchenko.
We invite you to look at the picturesque poetry of Leonid Marchenko, stop and feel something important that escapes out of sight in daily cares.
The exhibition runs in the gallery "Labyrinth" (3rd floor) until 27 November 2017.
