The ceremony of opening of the art open air exhibition “Summer the in province” was conducted in the library, on July 7.

The paintings, which were created during the international open air “Summer in the province”, are on display in the gallery “Rakurs” (2nd floor). More than 50 works of art, performed in various techniques and materials, acquaint the spectator with the scenic landscapes of the Smolevichi region. For the fifth time, the teaching artists will gather there to paint landscapes. On July 7–14, the project participants will create sketches on location, near the rivers and lakes of the Smolevichi region. Therefore this year’s open air is called "The pure springs".

It is symbolic that the V art open air starts the same day when the exposition “Summer in the province” opens in the National Library. It can be said the exhibition not only sums up the four previous years, but also inaugurates the Fifth anniversary open air " The pure springs ".

The Deputy Director of the Natioal Library of Belarus Tatiana Kuzminich thanked the providers of the exhibition and noted that the library always welcomed expositions like this, touching the soul and showing the beauty of our land.

The Deputy Chair of the Smolevichi regional executive committee Aleksandr Shlykov addressed the words of gratitude to all who had contributed to this meeting at the National Library. He believes that the region’s economy development is impossible without the development of culture. Therefore, local officials are often the initiators of cultural events and always meet the initiative of creative people. "The open air "Summer in the province” has become a tradition, and this is a great achievement. After all, this exhibition gives people a piece of beauty of the Smolevichi Region", he said.

The Deputy Head of the Ideology, culture and youth affairs administration of the Minsk regional executive committee Svetlana Baranok told about the objects of the first open air and how it had developed during five years. “The Smolevichi School of Arts has always been among the best, so it is no coincidence that the open air appeared in Smolevichi. The fertile ground has existed here for a long time", Svetlana said.

The Head of the Department of painting of the Smolevichi Children’s School of Arts and moderator of the exhibition Natalia Kaminskaya emphasized that such an event was of a particular importance to teaching artists: they got an opportunity to turn away from pupil’s easels and show their talent and attitude close to nature.

The event was also attended by the member of the Belarusian Union of Artists and participant of the open air, winner of the State Prize of Belarus Nina Piliuzina and the member of the International Association of Art Critics, the Belarusian Union of Designers and founder of the first Belarusian gallery “Brama” Larissa Finkelshtein.

The Smolevichi Region is not only a fruitful meeting place for creative people, but also the land of the young talents. The best proof of this was the performance of young musicians and singers who presented the audience their creative turns. The drawing of one of the open air paintings was a pleasant end of the event.

The offered exposition awakens the good and pure feelings as these paintings reveal the soul of the people, and a secret longing for a childhood spent in the village with grandmothers. Here is a warm and flowering summer in the province.
