On July 15th, at the National Library of Belarus took place the opening ceremony of the art exhibition of Belarusian painter Aleksey Kuzmich, timed to the artist’s 65th birthday.
The works by Aleksey Kuzmich, academician of the International Cyril and Methodius Academy of Slavic Education, are well-known in Belarus, Russia, Italy, Sweden and the USA.
His paintings are full of a profound philosophical insight reflecting such philosophical questions as the human’s mission in life, the moral imperative, the sanctity of motherhood. The artist aspires to incarnate his concept of harmony through the image of the woman’s beauty.
The exposition presents the works performed by the artist in different years. Among them there are portraits of eminent cultural workers from Belarus and Russia, and also pictures of Madonna whose image is one of the key themes in the artist’s creative activity.
Director of the National Library of Belarus Roman Motulsky, chairman of the Belarusian branch of the International Cyril and Methodius Academy of Slavic Education Lyubov Shumskaya, leading expert of the Art Administration of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Zimenko, deputy chairman of the Belarusian Union of Artists Gregory Sitnitsa, chairman of Belarusian Children’s Fund and writer Vladimir Lipsky, poet Andrei Skorinkin, art critic Galia Fakhytova and artist Aleksey Kuzmich took part in the event.
Academic secretary of the Belarusian branch of the International Cyril and Methodius Academy of Slavic Education Galina Bordusova held the opening ceremony.
The exhibition located in the indoor Observation platform of the National Library of Belarus runs up to August 31st.
Entrance to the Observation platform is paid, including the cost of the exhibition.
