On September 23 at the gallery Rakurs took place the opening ceremony of the photo exhibition “Meeting Shanghai we embrace the whole world” dedicated to Shanghai and the Universal Exhibition Expo 2010.
The event had been prepared by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Belarus and the National Library of Belarus.
The exposition includes more than 60 photos of the modern Shanghai and the Universal Exhibition Expo 2010. The works by famous Chinese photographers acquaint visitors with the urban life in China, presenting the modern world and projecting the future.
The exhibition is timed to the Days of Belarus in China (October 13-17), the National Day of the Belarusian Pavilion at Expo 2010 in Shanghai (October 11) and the National Day of the People's Republic of China (October 1).
Director of the National Library of Belarus Roman Motulsky and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Belarus Lu Guicheng opened the photo exhibition.
Deputy chief of Asia and Africa Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Leonid Batyanovsky, deputy chairman of the creative union “Fotoiskusstvo” Ivan Petrovich, and representatives of the diplomatic corps of the countries accredited in the Republic of Belarus participated in the event.
Musical performances of students of the Belarusian Academy of Music allowed to create the fascinating atmosphere of the East at the National Library of Belarus.
The exhibition runs up to October 11.
