On 13 December, a solemn opening of III Minsk international digital art festival “Terra Nova” took place in the gallery "Rakurs".
It is the 3rd time when works in a digital format have been represented in the gallery-exhibition complex of the National Library of Belarus.
Authors from Lithuania, Poland, China, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Germany and other countries took part in the event. About 150 works are shown at the exhibition.
The competition which results will be made by an authoritative jury carries out within the framework of the festival. The works will be estimated in following nominations: "Digital photo", "Computer graphic", "Video-art", "Video clip", "Animation", "Advertisement video", "Short film".
The opening of the event began with the welcoming speech of director of the National Library of Belarus Roman Motulsky. It is carried out with the participation of such people as curator of the festival, head of gallery-exhibition division of the Library Fyodor Yastreb, designer, teacher in Belarusian State Academy of Arts Alexandr Shchepetov, member of the Presidium of the Belarusian union of designers, director of the Internet-magazine “Srez dizayna Belarusi”(A truncation of the Belarusian Design) Anton Baranov, Ph.D. in Art history, docent of Belarusian State Academy of Arts Yevgeny Shuneyko, fotoatist, member of expert commission of the Belarusian Public Association “Fotoiskustvo” (Fotoart) Valery Vedrenko.
A fashion show of Belarusian designers Inna Gnuda and Valentina Neborskaya was at the ceremony. Choreographic performances of winner international competitions on m contemporary dance Alexandra Sharapova and a break dance team attached to the event peculiar audience appeal and style.
The exhibition will last until 18 January, 2011.
