We invite children and adults to the atmospheric exhibition “Global Diversity in Lithuanian Book Illustrations”, which will start in the "Rakurs" Gallery of the National Library of Belarus on December 17.

A wide variety of illustrations are presented to the audience, from pencil (in the style of comics) to collage, created using computers and other means of artistic expression. The exhibition allows you to plunge into real adventures without even reading the texts, as illustrations reveal the versatility of the world, the rhythm of colours, mood changes and many other experiences.

12 well-known Lithuanian book illustrators demonstrate their bright and truly fabulous works: Ieva Babilaitė, Lina Dudaitė, Lina Itagaki, Rasa Jančiauskaitė, Rasa Joni, Aušra Kyudulaitė, Maria Marcelonite, Vilmas Narečionis, Kristina Norvilaitė, Martynas Pavilonis, Jūratė Račinskaitė, Rimantas Rolia. The works of the artists have won many awards at the competitions of the most beautiful books in Lithuania and abroad and are appreciated by readers of all ages.

The aim of the exhibition is to present Lithuanian graphics for children's books to a wide range of audiences. The exhibition was prepared with the participation of the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in the Republic of Belarus.

The selection of works was carried out by Ms Dovilė Tomkutė, curator of the exhibition, artist, art manager, working in the field of visual and applied graphics. She noted that the exhibition "reveals the main trends in today's Lithuanian book illustration, a wide range of means of expression and technical diversity".

To see atmospheric and non-standard works (fish with wings, a pig on skates or even a flying dog) of famous Lithuanian artists will be possible until the end of January. The end date of the exhibition may be changed.

The opening hours of the exhibition correspond to the library’s opening hours.
Admission is by library card or by the ticket of the library's social and cultural center.
