An exhibition of military posters 1941–1945 from the stocks of the National Library of Belarus runs in the gallery “Atrium”.


The exhibition is part of the cultural and educational project “We glorify the greatest feat!” timed to the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory.

About 200 posters of 1941–1945 are kept in the National Library. This is our historical documentary treasure embodying the breath of the epoch, the breath of the Great Victory.

The offered exhibition presents nearby 50 printed original posters of different format on the theme of front, rear, occupied territories and partisan movement; posters of the well-known series ”Okna TASS” and other series. Chronologically they cover the period from June 1941 till September 1945.

Posters performed by known masters of Soviet poster graphics М. Smirnov, М. Malcev, М. Gordon, М. Sokolov, V. Ivanov, V. Deni, V. Korecky, L. Golovanov and others are on display.

Students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National library

On April 18, the students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National Library of Belarus as part of the environmental education and upbringing program. They got acquainted with the thematic book exhibition "Water is a wonderful gift of Nature" dedicated to World Water Day. The exposition is presented in the documents of international organizations reading room (room 207 g).

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.
