The opening of a photo exhibition "Birds of Paliessie" took place in the "Panarama" Gallery on May 19. The exhibition has been organized as part of the project "Paliessie – Wildlife Without Boundaries", which aims to preserve the wild environment of one of the largest natural landscapes in Europe.
The organizers of the exhibitions are the National Library of Belarus, the public association “Ahova Ptushak Batskaushchyny”, the Belarusian Wildlife Photographers Club.
"Birds of Paliessie" is a journey of amateur birdwatchers (people keen on watching birds) and professional bird watchers. The highest gallery in Minsk shows photographs of Paliessie birds and their natural habitats. Without binoculars, special devices, without leaving Minsk, you can admire the flight and daily life of Paliessie birds: wood sandpiper and azure tit, black-tailed godwit and corn crake, Eurasian penduline tit, great gray owl and black stork, as well as see the vast expanses of Prypiat, the river Stviga, sand dunes in the Lelchytsy district.
The authors of the works are famous Belarusian photographers Mikalaj Verabiej, Andrej Sheuchyk, Paviel Lychkouski, Uladzimir Pakalievich, Viktar Kazlouski, Artiom Turlaj, Vasil Fiedasienka and Siarhej Kozak. The exhibition includes 20 photographs-portraits of Paliessie birds and 20 photographs-landscapes of their habitat, where you can see bright feathers, attentive eyes, strong wings, clear flights and many natural objects.
The opening of the exhibition started with the welcoming speech by Ms Alena Dalgapolava, First Deputy Director General of the National Library of Belarus. Mr Aliaksandr Valcheuski, ornithologist, birdwatcher, eco-activist, director of the public association "Ahova Ptushak Batskaushchyny" and Ms Alina Liapioshkina, communications specialist of the association.

Admission is free for the opening, later the cost coincides with the cost of the Observation Deck tour.
The exhibition will run until the end of August 22.
