On 3 June, a grand opening of the exhibition consisting of diploma works of the Complex of Public Arts Schools named after T. Mayakovsky (Poland) and the Minsk State Art College named after A. Glebov (Belarus) was held in the gallery "Panorama" (22th floor).


The exhibition entitled "Dialogues" presents to the audience over 50 creative works of students and graduates of educational institutions in such kinds of visual arts as painting, design and sculpture.

As First Deputy Director of the National Library of Belarus Elena Dolgopolova opening the exhibition noted the gallery "Panorama" in the Library was a platform which was often visited by both residents of Minsk and guests of the capital and which gave an opportunity to introduce many people to works of young talents.

In turn, Director of the Minsk State Art College named after A. Glebov Alexander Shantarovich focused on the importance of the exhibition for the Belarusian, Polish and Russian sides: "This dialogue is very important for cross-cultural and inter-ethnic relations. We have been cooperating with Polish colleagues for many years, and now we are opening the exhibition which is held thanks to efforts of many people. This year the Russian College of Traditional Culture has joined us. I hope that staying here will be informative and enjoyable for our Polish and Russian guests".

Interaction between the two schools both of which have a rich history, long-standing traditions and school teaching promotes cross-fertilization in the cultural field, finding of innovative teaching methods in the field of art education and in the formation of a creative personality, strengthening and development of good neighbor relations between the participating countries in the process of creative communication.

Entrance to the exhibition "Dialogues" is requiring payment, and the cost is equal to the visiting of the Library’s Observation Platform. The exhibition runs until 15 June, 2014.

Students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National library

On April 18, the students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National Library of Belarus as part of the environmental education and upbringing program. They got acquainted with the thematic book exhibition "Water is a wonderful gift of Nature" dedicated to World Water Day. The exposition is presented in the documents of international organizations reading room (room 207 g).
