Ivan Fyodorov
(about 1510 – 15.12.1583)

Enlightener, founder of book-printing in Russia and Ukraine, as well as in the Zabludovsk printing house (Grodno district).

Despite the fact that the life and publishing activities of I. Fedorov are well covered in the literature and there are a number of works studying the books printed by him, there is no exact information about its origin. Some scientists, referring to the fact that the enlightener called himself “Moskvitin”, tend to consider Moscow as his birthplace, however, basing on the heraldic interpretation of the printed sign, other researchers believe that it comes from the Belarusian clan of Rogoz.
