Excursion Service

1. GENERAL PROVISIONS

1.1. The excursion service regulations (the Regulations hereinafter) are developed in conformity with the current legislation of the Republic of Belarus and the Charter of the National Library of Belarus and regulate the procedure of excursion group service at the National Library of Belarus (the Library hereinafter).
1.2. Each citizen has a right to make an excursion of the Library as a member of the excursion group. Children under the age of 14 won’t be allowed without adult supervision.
1.3. Excursion service is paid (both cash and cashless payment are accepted).
1.4. Excursion service is free of charge for children under 7 year of age, orphans, physically impaired persons and veterans of the Great Patriotic War, upon presentation of the confirmation document.
1.5. 35  % discount is provided to schoolchildren, students of vocational schools, high school students and university students, upon presentation of the confirmation document.
1.6. To make an excursion, provide the Social and Cultural Center Visitor’s Pass and a cashed check.
1.7. Excursion groups are formed on the request of individuals and organizations.
1.8. Excursion service is provided by employees of the National Library of Belarus only.

2. EXCURSION SERVICE

2.1. Excursion groups formed on the request of individuals need advance registration which is made since the 20th day of each month. Excursionists registration is held from Tuesday to Saturday, at 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
2.2. The excursion groups service schedule:

Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday – Noon, 3 p.m., 6 p.m.;
Thursday, Saturday, Sunday – Noon, 3 p.m., 5 p.m.;
Monday – the day off.

The summer schedule (from July 1 up to August 31):

Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday – Noon, 3 p.m., 6 p.m.;
Thursday, Saturday, – Noon, 3 p.m., 5 p.m.;
Monday – 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m.;
Sunday – the day off.

2.3. The Book Museum excursion service shedule:

Tuesday – Friday – 4 p.m.;
Monday, Sunday – the days off.

2.4. The Library accepts collective requests from:

  • schoolchildren (under 8 years of age);
  • students of vocational schools, high school students and university students;
  • employees of industries, organizations and other institutions;
  • foreign citizens;
  • tourist groups.

2.5. Tourist organizations can make up to one request per month. The excursion group can include up to 15 excursionists, at the Book Museum – up to 30 excursionists.
2.6. Advance registration is made since the 5th day of each month, except for Sundays and holidays. The fixed excursion date and time can be changed by the customer no later than 7 days before excursion and only if the Library employees are available.
2.7. The excursion group can include up to 15 excursionists including one attendant for schoolchildren and student groups.
2.8. In exceptional cases the excursion group can include up to 20 excursionists.
In this case the customer must request an additional excursion if the Library employees are available, otherwise excursionists must purchase the individual visitor’s tickets.
2.9. In the event that:
2.9.1. the excursion group arrives before the fixed time, pre-term excursion service is provided only if the Library employees are available;
2.9.2. the excursion group arrival is delayed up to 30 minutes, the excursion time is reduced in proportion to the time of delay;
2.9.3. the excursion group arrival is delayed for more than 30 minutes, the excursion is cancelled.

3. EXCURSIONIST RIGHTS

3.1. Excursionists have a right:
3.1.1. to get information about the Library excursion service;
3.1.2. to get guide services;
3.1.3. to use video equipment and photo cameras (at the Book Museum photography is allowed without flash only);
3.1.4. to address the Library board to settle any questions concerning the Library excursion service.

4. EXCURSIONIST DUTIES

4.1. Excursionists must:
4.1.1. observe the rules of the Library excursion service;
4.1.2. leave their outdoor clothing in the locker-room;
4.1.3. leave their bags, briefcases, files, umbrellas, musical instruments and other property in a checkroom;
4.1.4. use carefully the property of the Library;
4.1.5. be quiet and keep order and cleanness inside and outside the Library;
4.1.6. be respectful to guides and other visitors of the Library;
4.1.7. in case of emergency (fire, accident, terrorist attack etc.), follow the instruction of the Library employees, firemen and security guards.
4.2. Forbidden:
4.2.1. breaking the rules of public conduct;
4.2.2. bringing printed documents, electronic documents, cold steel without the prmission of the Library administration;
4.2.3. bringing any animals in the Library;
4.2.4. damaging the property of the Library;
4.2.5. taking away the property of the Library;
4.2.6. using mobile phones unless zummer is turned off.
4.2.7. placing advertisements, posters or other advertising material, doing commercial activity inside the Library without permission;
4.2.8. wearing unclean clothing, entering the Library in a state of intoxication

5. EXCURSIONIST LIABILITY

5.1. Visitors damaging or taking away the Library’s property are to be charged in conformity with the legislation of the Republic of Belarus.
5.2. For non-observance of the excursion service regulations visitors may be deprived of the right to use the Library.

6. THE LIBRARY RIGHTS

6.1. The Library has a right:
6.1.1. to change the current Regulations;
6.1.2. to specify the excursion service procedure;
6.1.3. to provide excursion service for fee, in conformity with the Library Service Price List and under the agreement of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus;
6.1.4. to claim damages from users in conformity with the legislation of the Republic of Belarus;
6.1.5. to ban from the Library users breaking the current Regulations for term specified by the Library;
6.1.6. to remove excursionists from the Library in the event that they break the rules of public conduct or the Library’s internal regulations.

7. THE LIBRARY DUTIES

7.1. The Library must:
7.1.1. provide user service in conformity with the current Regulations;
7.1.2. provide high-quality excursion service;
7.1.3. notify users of:

  • kinds of services provided by the Library;
  • change of the current Regulations;
  • change of the work time of the Library.
