The jubilee exhibition "Anthem of Poetry and Songs" honours the 85th birthday of renowned Belarussian cultural worker Uladzimir Karyzna, is on display from May 3 to June 7 at the Belarusian Literature reading room (No 205) in Minsk.

One of the most melodic and musical poets, Vladimir Karizna's works are always well-liked by both readers and composers. He writes in many different genres. The poet's literary toolbox naturally contained the themes of homeland, native roots, parental home, native language, man and nature, and the difficult times of war.

In the first section of the exhibition, the author's poetry collections are widely presented, which stand out for their unique style, melodic beauty, and accessible musical sound. Among them are “My blue-eyed Land”, “Crane Dawn”, “Shower Light”, “Lakes of Kindness” and others. Belarusian composers U. Budnik, Ja. Glebaw, E. Zarytski, I. Luchanok, and others have adapted several of his verses to music. The most popular ones were included in song collections “Club evenings”, “I love you, Belaya Rus”, “The nightingale sings”, “This is our Motherland”. U. Karyzna is also a wonderful children's poet, as evidenced by the books of poems for children on display at the exhibition.

The exhibition's second portion provides information on the author's varied activities and introduces readers to his editorial, drafting, and translation work.

The exhibition's last section introduces visitors to the poet's life and career through literary and critical works, encyclopaedic articles, and periodicals.

The books presented in the exhibition can be ordered through the electronic catalog of the National Library of Belarus.

The opening hours of the exhibition corresponds to the library’s opening hours.
Entrance to the exhibition is available by the library ticket or ticket of the library's social and cultural center.
