The exhibition "Combating Corruption is the State’s and Society’s one of the Primary Tasks” is on display from 28 March to 28 May in the Legal information reading room (No 207b).
Currently, every state's top objective is to combat corruption. Now this is not a problem of a single state. Corruption is a problem of the entire world community. A phenomenon that poses a threat to society and undermines such components as law, economics, and morality. Among the negative trends in the spread of corruption, we can note the erosion of trust in state bodies, legal values, a decrease in the authority of the state at the international level, restrictions on investment and a slowdown in overall economic growth.
The international community develops international documents that prevent its dissemination the UN Convention against Corruption, the Council of Europe Convention on Criminal Liability for Corruption (ETS No 173), the UN Convention against Transnational Organized Crime, the UN Declaration on Combating Corruption and Bribery in International Commercial Transactions, "Agreement on cooperation between the Prosecutor General's Offices of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the fight against corruption" and many others.
International treaties provide for measures to prevent and punish corruption, as well as mechanisms for international cooperation in combating it.
In the Republic of Belarus, at the state level, the topic of corruption is considered as a direct threat to the national security of the country. Combating corruption is a complex and multi-level task. In this regard, Belarus is taking measures to counteract this socially dangerous phenomenon. The following legislative frameworks have been developed and applied: "On Combating Corruption", "On Changing Laws on combating corruption", "On Combating Organized Crime", etc. Anti-corruption measures are being carried out, which have become the subject of close attention of the Government of the republic, regional authorities, local self-government bodies, and law enforcement agencies.
The fight against corruption is not only the implementation of state programs and legal acts, it is also a struggle for the future of every citizen.
