The exhibition "Assorted Porcelain" from the private collection of Viktor Suvorov, a chairman of the Belarusian Republican Public Association of Collectors, is still on display in the library's exhibition complex.
When given a porcelain figurine of a young fox cub with a distinct sly look more than 20 years ago, the collector displayed a unique approach towards porcelain artwork. The "porcelain narrative" of Viktor Suvorov, one of Belarus's biggest collectors, begins with this.
Every last Thursday of the month at 6.30 pm Viktor Gennadievich will conduct author's tours of the exhibition, which includes about 500 porcelain objects: busts of famous people, plaques, plates, mugs, inkwells, pencil boxes, figurines on sentimental and pastoral subjects and scenes of family idylls. Viktor Suvorov will show unique figurines of the animal world of different continents of the globe, compositions made of porcelain vases of different sizes, and multi-genre sculptures of vocalists, dancers, actors, musicians, and circus performers. There are intriguing publications from the National Library of Belarus on the origin and evolution of porcelain in the world, especially for tourists.
The collector's collection includes artefacts from porcelain factories in countries like Minsk and Dobrush (Belarus), Duliovski and Lomonosovski (Russia), Polonski and Kiev (Ukraine), Riga Porcelain Factory (Latvia), as well as factories in Germany, Denmark, and other European nations, spanning the years from the 1930s to the present.
Visitors will be able to explore the history of the "white gold," experience the "fragile" art, and have a thrilling time at the National Library of Belarus thanks to the author's perspective on Viktor Gennadyevich!
