The National Library of Belarus hosted the grand opening of the literary and art exhibition "Poets of the Belarussian land", dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the birth date of Belarusian writers Yanka Kupala and Yakub Kolas, on June 23rd at the mobile gallery on the 3rd floor.

The creative heritage of artists of the word is represented by publications, original illustrations to the works of writers, personal belongings and documents of poets. Funds of the National Library of Belarus, the National Archive of the Republic of Belarus, the Yakub Kolas State Literary and Memorial Museum and the Yanka Kupala State Literary Museum are involved in creating the exhibition.

The exhibition includes lifetime editions of Kupala and Kolas, the most interesting of which are the first in Belarus personal encyclopedia "Slounik movy Yanki Kupala" [Yanka Kupala’s language vocabulary], "Tlumachalny slounik admetnai lexiki y tvorakh Yakub Kolas" [Explanatory dictionary of distinctive vocabulary in the works of Yakub Kolas], publications with autographs and beautifully designed covers.

The figures of writers are presented not only through the prism of best-selling poems of the Soviet era, but also through illustrations to the works of Yanka Kupala and Yakub Kolas by famous Belarusian artists Heorgi Paplauski, Barys Zaborau, Vasil Sharangovich. Manuscripts with autographs of writers, their personal belongings, certificates of awards and other interesting exhibits give a special atmosphere to the exhibition.
