A thematic exhibition "Energy of the New Time: on the Use of Secondary Resources in energy Conservation" in the Periodicals Reading Room (room 106) is on show from 1 November to 21 December.

The need to save energy and reduce pollution is forcing the more efficient use of traditional energy resources as well as the search for other, preferably renewable and low-cost, energy sources, which recently have been more and more often referred to as municipal solid waste.

For Belarus, the primary task is to reduce the volume of waste disposal and expand their processing. Incineration, separate waste collection, deposit refund system for container handling, composting, RDF fuel and biogas plants are all planned as a package. These areas, consistent with the principles of a green economy, are covered in detail in the journals Energy Efficiency, Ecology in Enterprise, Science and Innovation, Energy Saving, etc.

The most pressing issue in today's reality is the rejection of plastic. International experience in waste management (the problem of packaging, circulation of plastic, disposal of medical and oil and gas products) is summarised in articles from Innovations, Planet, Green Container, Science and Life, etc.

In total, the exposition includes about 30 periodicals.

The opening hours of the exhibition correspond to the library’s opening hours.
Admission is by the library card or by the Social and Cultural Centre ticket.
