An exhibition dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus is on show in the circular corridor of the 2nd floor from July 2 to August 31.
The date of the holiday is associated with the liberation of the capital of our Motherland from the fascist invaders on July 3, 1944, which became the starting point of a new era.
Belarusians have a rich history; our people have created wonderful literature, music, paintings, architecture and a living language. All of these are valuable components of national identity and unity. In sovereign Belarus, the most significant monuments of archaeology, architecture and urban planning, history, art and intangible cultural heritage (customs, traditions, rituals) are taken under state protection. In a modern country, it is necessary to carefully preserve and multiply the historical, cultural and spiritual heritage and national traditions.
There is not a single place in Belarus that does not have a corner that does not have its own peculiarity. The exhibition is dedicated to the pearls of the historical and cultural heritage of each region of the country.
The legendary and heroic Brest Fortress, the oldest forest in Europe – Belavezhskaja Pushcha, a unique wooden town of the 13th century – Biarescie, palaces in Ruzhany and Kossava in the Brest region. Monuments in ancient cities of Viciebsk land and natural values of Viciebsk region – Polack Safia, Braslau Lakes National Park, Jelnia Landscape Reserve, etc. Majestic castles and palaces of famous dynasties, such as the Mir castle complex, temples of different denominations and iconic historical sites of the Hrodna region (Navahrudak, Kreva, Hrodna, etc.). The Belarusian Paliessie will also delight with miracles – the protected nature of the Prypiac National Park, the palace and park ensemble of the Rumiantseu-Paskievichs in Homiel, the “city of Old Believers” Vietka, ancient Turau, Mazyr, Rechyca, Chachersk and other places in the Homiel region. Of particular interest is the world value the Niasvizh Palace of the Radziwills, as well as the Bernardine Church in Budslau, ancient cities Zaslaul, Barysau, Sluck, Maladzechna, Miadzel, the Narach national park, memorial complexes in Khatyn, Trascianec, the Mound of Glory in the Minsk region. And, of course, one cannot but recall the palace and park ensembles, monasteries and fortresses in the ancient cities of the Mahiliou region – Mscislaul, Krychau, Prapojsk, Mahiliou, Bykhau, Zhylichy, Babrujsk, etc.
The exhibition presents encyclopaedic, popular science and tourist illustrated publications that introduce you to the priceless treasures of the Belarusian land, make you get carried away with national treasures and create your own route to get to know them.

Admission is by the library card or by the Social and Cultural Centre ticket.
