An anniversary exhibition "The Memory of Roads" timed to coincide with the 110th anniversary of the birth of the poet and translator Anatol Astrejka (1911-1978) is on show in the Belarusian Literature Reading Room (room 205) from July 16 to September 19.

Anatol (Akim) Astrejka was one of the first Belarusian poets who left a significant creative legacy. The focus of Astrejka's poetry is human life. His works are cordial and honest, closely connected with folklore and very melodious. His poems are written with great emotion, imagery, sincerity, and warmth. Poems that were written from the heart will never lose their special sound.

"The Poetry of Emotions" section contains numerous poetry collections of the author, including "All honour to Life", "The Sluck Belt", "A Good Day", "Nioman, My Father", "Heart Wide Open", "Bloom, Heather!", "Earthly Sluck Land", “Warmth Harvest” and others, as well as feuilletons “Devil's Vacancy”, pieces for children “Christmas Tree” and “Grandpa Mikhied's Adventures ”, individual poems in multi-authored collections and periodicals.

Lyric poems by Anatoly Astrejka are simple and song-like. It is no coincidence that many of the poet's heartfelt, euphonic works are set to music. Music editions are presented in the section "With a Song Through Life".

“The Generosity of a Poet” is a section of the exhibition that introduces A. Astrejka's poems, translated into the languages of the world, as well as his translations. The lyrical poet is known as a translator of the works of Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, Lithuanian, Moldavian, Uzbek writers into Belarusian.

Anatol Astrejka was always a sower of light, sincerity, love for the Motherland. In the section "The Beauty of the Days Lived" literature about his life and work is displayed.
