The opening of the exhibition "Monument" will take place in the gallery "Labyrinth" (3rd floor) on July 6 It is held as part of the National Festival of Monumental Art.

A large-scale exhibition marathon, which unites monumental masters from Minsk and the regions of Belarus at different art venues of the capital, acquaints viewers with new trends in modern Belarusian monumental decorative art, presents interesting works of famous monumental artists and young authors to the general public.

One of the art palettes of Belarusian monumentalists will be in the National Library of Belarus. The exposition includes authors with a specific art style and worldview, famous classics Kamil Kamal, Siamion Damarad, famous Belarusian artists Andrej Skitseu, Alies Susha, Siarhei Kryshtapovich, Andrej Kolha and others.

The works, executed in different genres and materials, together create the impression of a grandiose canvas. Painted with many plots, it becomes a large-scale mosaic of contemporary Belarusian monumental art. The multi-level, multifaceted "painting" of the gallery tells about life, its wisdom, lightness, meaning and beauty.

The organizers of the exhibition are the National Library of Belarus and the Belarusian Union of Artists.

The exhibition will run until November 21, 2021.
The end date is subject to change.

Admission is by the library card or by the Social and Cultural Centre ticket.

Connoisseur of Belarusian Antiquities

April 18, 2024 marks the 210th anniversary of the birth of Yevstafiy Tyshkevich, a famous archaeologist, historian, ethnographer, local historian and museologist. His research has raised whole layers of the historical past, he was one of the first Belarusian authors of local lore. To mark the anniversary of the scientist, an exhibition "Connoisseur of Belarusian Antiquities" has been organized in the Book Museum of the National Library of Belarus.

Anniversary book exhibition "A Look into Eternity", dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of the Belarusian scientist, literary critic Vladimir Mikhailovich Konon (1934–2011), takes place from April 23 to May 20 in the Belarusian Literature reading room (room 205).

"Soldier's Fate": on the 100th anniversary of Vasil Bykov and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of the People's writer of Belarus, publicist and screenwriter Vasil Vladimirovich Bykov.
On this occasion, the National Library has prepared an anniversary exhibition "Soldier's fate", which highlights the great influence on the work of the Belarusian writer of his participation in the Great Patriotic War.
