The "Rakurs" Gallery (2nd floor) hosts the opening of "The Myths" exhibition of graphics and paintings by Usievalad Shwajba on June 10.
Usievalad Shwajba is a Belarusian artist, a member of the Belarusian Union of Artists, a participant in numerous national and international exhibitions and projects, including large-scale mixed projects of the National Library of Belarus, a laureate and winner of art contests. The author's works are displayed in galleries, museums and collections in Belarus and abroad.
The exhibition reveals the magical and unique world of Usievalad Shwajba's artistic images, acquaints visitors with the originality of his technical and philosophical inventions, which very individually and distinctively constitute a unique mosaic of content, symbols, personalities and forms. The artist invents symbolism and deep wisdom in figures, plots, faces, talks about the subtext and depth of meanings.
The presented works are executed in various graphic techniques and materials, including woodcut, ink, pen, lithography, etching, linarite. The artist's paintings sound in unison with graphic letters. Graphics and painting do not argue, but embody a single concept with various artistic means, full of originality. They make it possible to see the world through the lens of the artist's imagination. The plots of the art works are filled with metaphysics, plasticity, structure, beauty. The artist invents the mythical nature of ordinary lines and faces.
The organizers of the exhibition are the National Library of Belarus and the Belarusian Union of Artists.
Admission is free on the event day. On other days, admission is by the library card or by the Social and Cultural Centre ticket.
The exhibition will be on show until September 15, 2021.
