"To Stop and Turn Around ...", the exhibition is on show in the Room of Musical and Audiovisual Documents (room 305) from April 8 to May 12. The exhibition is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Eduard Hanok, the musician and composer.

The talent of Eduard Hanok, Honored Worker of Culture of the BSSR (1982) and People's Artist of Belarus (1996), was most clearly manifested in the creation of pop music. His compositions are familiar to several generations. They are still performed by vocal and instrumental ensembles from different countries.

The composer's songs, written on the verses of the Belarusian poets N. Prokopovich, V. Karizna, G. Buravkin, were appreciated by the public and became the hallmark of many artists. They were included in their repertoire of O. Voronets, E. Khil, V. Tolkunova, Y. Poplavskaya, A. Tikhanovich, A. Pugacheva.

The genre sources of the works of E. Hanok are very diverse. You can trace the connection of the author's songs with the Soviet mass song, and with the lyric romance, and with modern rock music. His creativity is characterized by imagery, melody, and colourful harmonic colour.

Our readers will touch the results of the composer's longstanding work. Such compositions as “Will It Still Be”, “I Live With My Grandmother”, “Robin”, “You are Noisy, Birch”, “Let's Talk” became hits of their era. The songs are available for listening. The books with autographs by the musician and publications from periodicals supplies the exhibition.

The opening hours of the exhibition correspond to the library’s opening hours.

Admission is by library card or by the ticket of the library's social and cultural center.
