Visitors of the Gallery “Labyrinth” can enjoy the “Wet-on-Wet. Watercolour Paintings by Vyacheslav Pavlovets.”

Mr Vyacheslav Pavlovets is a well-known Belarusian painter, graphic artist, illustrator, designer, an outstanding master of watercolours and its faithful adherent, who subtly feels a unique philosophy of the material. “Watercolour formed my lifestyle and quietly flowed into my artistic life,” believes the master.

The exhibition presents works of different years and series, united by the wet-on-wet technique (or alla prima). Layers of wet paint are applied to previously administered layers of wet paint in this watercolour painting technique. The artist needs to work quickly because everything must be finished before the first layers dry.

Mr Pavlovets' watercolours are meditation-like projections of emotions on a sheet of paper, a philosophical reflection, a laconic pictorial hokka, the reality through the master's mindset. His unconditional masterpieces are monochrome minimalistic landscapes. The artist glorified the Belarusian sunless “grey day” and elevated it to a poetic metaphor, in which he saw dozens of subtle nuances.

You can visit the exhibition in the Gallery “Labyrinth” (3rd floor) until June 29, 2020.

The end date is subject to change.

The opening hours of the exhibition correspond to the library’s opening hours.

Admission is by a library card or by the Social and Cultural Center ticket.
