Forest Song, an informational and illustrative project, starts in celebration of the memorable date. You can have a look at it at the XXVII Minsk International Book Fair (MIBF).
The exhibition includes unique pieces of evidence of partisans' life during the war years. The documents from the collections of the National Library of Belarus and the National Archive of the Republic of Belarus capture partisans' daily life and work during and in between military operations. These are handwritten records, leaflets, propaganda posters, newspapers, photographs, sketches with plots, excerpts from stories, poems, verses, and songs.
The project is international. All MIBF visitors have a chance to view rarities before the exposition is sent abroad. This will only be available on February 7. Then, the traveling exhibition will be shown in Azerbaijan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkey during the year. The first country to host the exhibition will be Moldova.
The presentation of the project will be held as part of the Fair. As a follow-up to the event, the following projects will also be presented:
- 100 days to the Great Victory project. Through the pages of the Belarusian Newspapers of 1945;
- The first issue of the Partisan Archive multimedia publications series: Operations and Intelligence Reports of the Belarusian Headquarters of the Partisan Movement: 1944, electronic documentary edition.
We are looking forward to seeing you at the central venue of the National Stand of Belarus in the administrative complex (14 Pobediteley Ave., 14) on February 7 at 11.20.
