A book exhibition "Gentle, Sweet, Kind" timed to Mother's Day (14 October) is organized from October 12 to 30 in the library (2nd floor, exhibition space).

Every human being associates all the good and holy with the name of the Mother. Maternal love and tenderness creates in us the desire to multiply sense of kindness, give it to the people and change our lives for the better.

In different countries of the world the Mother's Day is celebrated at different times. In Belarus, it coincides with the great Orthodox holiday celebrated on October 14. This day symbolizes special attitude of the state and of each person to the mothers, our guardians of home warmth, kindness and morality.

The exhibition presents about 100 latest editions of the most important topics for every caring mother: parenting, healthy lifestyle, good nutrition, respect for family traditions and way of life, improvement and creation of home comfort.

A section of the exhibition dedicated to the "orthodox mother" includes literature about the life of the Mother of God and its icons, the Orthodox encyclopedia and books on the history of gaining the Mother of God of Minsk, the main Orthodox shrines of Belarus.

There are also books about Belarusian mothers-heroines who raised five or more children. Their merits are marked by high state awards and titles, respected teams in which they work or have worked.

The exposition will be interesting to a wide audience, especially to young mothers, who get a lot of useful tips and advice.
