Belarus and China will meet in the "Labyrinth" gallery. Belarusian-Chinese exhibition project "Tradition to Meet" will present the cultural heritage of nations.
Despite the fact that our countries are on different sides of the Eurasian continent, there are traditions that are inherent in the Belarusian and Chinese art: the art of paper cutting, folk art, some types of arts and crafts.
Exhibition visitors will see exhibits from Beijing − Chinese traditional art in various media. The exposition will present crafts from paper, straw, batik, New Year paintings, handmade lanterns, painted flowers and Chinese calligraphy, carving on eggshells. The authors are Lan Xiaoqi, Xie Chengfei, Chen Qiang, Zhuang Congcan, Li Defen, Qin Zerong, Chang Lixian, Shen Liping, Chen Ying, Wan Ling, Yang Quanfu, Zhang Xiaoyan, Shao Lei.
The Belarusian part of the exhibition is presented with "vytynanky" (art form of papercutting). They are made by Anastasia Kuzmich, Olga Nalivaiko, Galina Zhuravleva, Valentina Slyunchenko, Vera Janushevskaya, Natalia Suhaya, skilled workers, members of the Belarusian Union of folk artists. Their works embody the classic stories, songs, philosophical parables and reflections, images of animals, birds and mythological beings Belarus.
The event will begin on September 25 at 4 pm in the "Labyrinth" gallery (3rd floor).
The exhibition will last until January 25, 2020.
The end date of the exhibition can be changed.
The opening hours of the exhibition corresponds to the library’s opening hours.
