gallery "Rakurs" (2nd floor)

The City and Time exhibition, dedicated to the Day of the City of Minsk, will present the pictures of the Belarusian photographer, Vadzim Kachan.

In his works, the author examines how the capital city has changed in time, especially the Independence Avenue. The main street of Minsk is shown in the majority of pictures at the exhibition.

Vadzim Kachan collates and compares the photos of the 1980s and modern pictures. The past is reflected in black-and-white photographs taken with FED and Zenith cameras, most used in those years. The present time is colorful pictures taken on phone, the most common camera nowadays. Such a method shows technology as another difference between the eras: since the 1980s, many things from science fiction stories have become reality.

The exhibition officially opens on September 12, at 17.00, gallery “Rakurs” (2nd floor).

The exhibition will run until October 17, 2019.
The closing date can be changed.

Free admission on the opening day of the exhibition, on other days a library card or a ticket of the library's social and cultural center is required.
