The holiday appeared in 2012 and since then it is annually celebrated in various countries of the world. The holiday focuses public attention on the book as the best gift in the world. After all, they are very useful, thanks to them a person can learn something new for himself. Books help develop and improve.

The initiator of creation of this Day was the citizen of the United States of America, Amy Broadmoore. She is the author of the children's book website in her home country. One day, one of her three sons wondered why there was no day in the calendar intended for the disinterested donation of books to each other. Thanks to children's curiosity in the head of Emmy and the idea of creating a holiday. Amy Brodmoore's initiative was supported by her relatives, acquaintances, colleagues, friends from social networks and the idea spread all over the world!

The recipe for success of bookcrossing is in love for books and a little bit of generosity. Maybe it is your book that will change someone’s life one day!
