From January 18 to February 11 in the Fine Art reading room (room 306) a book and illustrative exhibition "Infinite Art Space", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the National Art Museum of Belarus founding is held.

The National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus is the largest expositional, cultural and educational platform of the country with a significant collection of domestic and foreign visual arts.

The path of development and formation of the museum was not easy. It has been opened in 1939 as the State Picture Gallery and the staff have made a significant art collection, the institution completely lost its collection in the first days of World War II. Having survived the war years, the period of restoration and formation of the new museum fund, the years of construction, the museum have got a new image: a magnificent building with columns designed by the architect Mikhail Baklanov. Due to the selfless work, love of art, undoubted professionalism of the director of the museum Elena Aladova, the institution has reached the highest level of development and become the pride of the country, its cultural and historical value.

Currently, the museum presents a true treasury of masterpieces with a developing restoration base, research and publishing activities, the implementation of international exhibition projects, the preservation and promotion of national art, support for young creators and contemporary art practices. This is not only a repository of art, national treasure and memory of the country, but also an endless creative space with a variety of activities that unite all forms of art.

At the exhibition there are represented documents on the history of the National Art Museum, its activities, employees and directors who have made significant contributions to the development of Belarusian culture. Among them there are Nikolay Mikholap, Elena Aladova, Yuri Karachun and Vladimir Prokoptsov.

Albums of reproductions from the collection of the National Art Museum, catalogs of the most significant exhibition projects, collections of reports of scientific conference, art documents displaying funds of Belarusian, Russian and Western European art, a series of factual books "Famous Artists from Belarus", which has being printed annually by a museum.

There are also documents about the branches of the institution: the museum of V. Vankovich (Minsk), the museum of Belarusian folk art (Raubichi), the museum of V.K. Byalynitsky-Biruli (Mogilyov).

At the exhibition there are more than 70 documents.


The opening hours of the exhibition corresponds to the library’s opening hours.
Entrance to the exhibition is available by the library ticket or ticket of the library's social and cultural center.
