Location

Radim Goretsky, a scientist in the field of geology and geotectonics, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, doctor of geological and mineralogical sciences, professor, honored worker of science of the BSSR, turned 90 years old.

The hero of the day is the son of a geologist, demographer, one of the founding academicians of the Belarusian Academy of Sciences, Gavrila Goretsky, and nephew of the famous Belarusian writer and public figure, Maxim Goretsky. At the meeting, Radim Goretsky will tell about his scientific activity and life journey, as well as about the difficult fate that befell the family of Belarusian intellectuals.

The National Library has prepared an exhibition of biographical literature and popular science publications of Radim Goretsky on the occasion of the academician’s 90th birth anniversary.

The organizers are the National Library of Belarus and the Belarusian Cultural Foundation (BFC) Public Association. The creative meeting is part of the project “My Clan – My Homeland”.


The event starts on December 13, 16.00, in the gallery “Labyrint” (3rd floor). Free admission.
