“When the Soul Is Looking for the Word”, an exhibition timed to the 70th anniversary of the Belarusian poet, laureate of the Lenin Komsomol Prize (1978) and Belarus State Prize named after Yanka Kupala (1986), Yevgenia Yanishchits, runs in the Belarusian literature hall (205), from November 16 to December 26.
Yevgenia Yanishchits (1948–1988) hurried in the 1960s Belarusian literature easily and naturally, leaving behind six books of poetry, which to this day touch the heart and captivate by the power and purity of expression. Her writing it a poignant, frank and sincere confession; the song of soul, sung by an untamed bird of Polesie and filled with love of mankind and the native land.
Literary critics and writers still try to solve the secret of Yevgenia Yanishchits’ poetry and publish numerous reviews, articles and essays about her life and literary talent. Many critical materials, as well as memoirs and dedications from her friends, colleagues and admirers complete the commemorative exhibition.
