In anticipation of the most important historical document’s anniversary, the award ceremony of the republican drawing competition “Draw Your Rights: the 70th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights” is to be held at the National Library.
The main goal of the competition is to enhance the knowledge of human rights among student, foster respect for rights and freedoms, develop children's creativity, identify and support young talents.
More than 500 contestants, aged from 6 to 17, took part in the final republican stage. The jury considered the works in two nominations: "Painting" and "Graphics". The drawings reflected both the various articles of the declaration and individual human rights: civil, political, economic, social and cultural.
The exhibition is organized by the United Nations Office in the Republic of Belarus in cooperation with the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus and the National Center for Children and Youth Arts and Crafts.
The event starts on December 6, 12:00, the Labyrinth Gallery (3rd floor).
The exhibition will run from December 7, the Mobile Gallery (circular corridor,3rd floor).
The opening hours of the exhibition correspond to the library’s opening hours.
Admission is by library card or by ticket of the library's social and cultural center. Information and tickets may be obtained at the registration desk.
