The opening of a retrospective exhibition of book graphics by Pavel Tatarnikov "Pencil & Penzal" will take place on October 30 in the library.
The exposition of the world famous book illustrator Pavel Tatarnikov "Pencil & Penzal" will represent more than 90 graphic works: illustrations for popular publications in Belarus and abroad.
In the artist's portfolio there are images of the historical Belarus by Anatoly Butevich, Vladimir Orlov and Vladimir Yagovdik; illustrations for English and French classics (William Shakespeare and Alexander Dumas), Scottish prose (Robert Lewis Stevenson), Chinese epos “Heaven Emperor and 10 Suns”, Belarusian folk tales and world famous fairy tales by Hans Christian Anderson; illustrations for the publication on the libretto of the opera by Richard Wagner "The Gold of the Rhine" and many other works. The graphics by P. Tatarnikovare marked by grace, accuracy of the elements. Every detail has deep philosophical content. Each of his works is a novel, imbued with sincere respect for the subject of the image.
Pavel Tatarnikov is Belarusian graphic artist, book illustrator, associate professor at the Department of Graphics of the Belarusian State Academy of Arts, member of the Belarusian Union of Artists, academician of the Belarusian Academy of Fine Arts, participant of numerous exhibitions in different countries of the world, leading artist in the field of illustration Belarusian fairy tales and historical editions.
"Pencil & Penzal" is a retrospective exhibition of graphics by an artist who has been decorating and making dozens of books by different authors, of different content, and for an audience of different ages for more than two decades.
The event will begin at 17.00 in the “Labyrinth” gallery (3d floor).
We invite you to visit the exhibition until February 24, 2019.

The opening hours of the exhibition corresponds to the library’s opening hours.
Entrance to the exhibition is available by the library ticket or ticket of the library's social and cultural center.
