Irina Dubenetskaya, a biblical scholar, D.D., will give a lecture on “The Bible and Patterns of Civilization. The Way of the Bible to Belarus and the Way of Belarus to the Bible”. The event is part of the international project “Belarus and the Bible”.

The meeting starts at 18.00 on October 16th, the educational technologies hall (3rd floor, room 346).

The Thousand-year Brest, the Cultural Capital of the CIS


The city of Brest (Berestye) was first mentioned in The Tale of Bygone Years (1019) as the trade and craft center of Kievan Rus. In 1390, Brest received the Magdeburg right and became the first Belarusian city with the privilege of self-government.

"New Home, New Life”, a book exhibition timed to the World Refugee Day runs in the Official Documents Service Department (room 207), from June 14 to July 22.

From June 13 to August 13 the exhibition “Mozart from Champs-Élysées” dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the French composer, theater conductor, cellist Jacques Offenbach is held in the Music and Audiovisual Documents reading room (305).

From June 12 to July 17 in the Music and Audiovisual Documents reading room (room 305) the exhibition “Music of the Subconscious”, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the world famous Russian composer and teacher Galina Ustvolskaya (1919–2006), is held.
