An information and documentary exhibition “The Trostenets Death Camp. History and Memory ” will open on June 7 in the Library.
The organizers are the Dortmund International Education Center, the Johannes Rau Minsk International Education Center, the Foundation Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe and the National Library of Belarus.
The Belarusian-German exhibition project calls to pay tribute to the memory of the Trostenets victims and reflects how and where in Belarus, Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic the memory of the victims is honored. The exposition also tells about places of mass destruction and about those who committed atrocities.
The exhibition consists of 18 sections representing Maly Trostenets as a crime scene, but at the same time a place of memory. Some sections are devoted to the Blagovshchina land, where mass executions took place, "Special Action 1005", murders in the Shashkovka land, where an oven to destroy people was built. The main attention is given to the biographical portraits of the Trostenets victims.
The event will begin at 4 pm in the atrium of the 2nd floor.
The opening hours of the exhibition corresponds to the library’s opening hours.
Entrance to the exhibition is available by the library ticket or ticket of the library's social and cultural center.
