How did the formation of Belarusian libraries take place in the first half of the 20th century? Who could become a librarian? What is a magic lantern? Why is the first director of the Belarusian State Library I.B. Simanovsky proposed to reduce the area allotted for his apartment? Why were the library employees released from work for up to 3 days? The book-illustrative exhibition "Tandem of Inspiration" is on show in the Fine Arts Reading Room (room 306) from January 15 to February 22. The exhibition dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of Belarusian artists Georgy Poplavsky (1931-2017) and Natalia Nikolaevna Poplavskaya (1931).
On January 14, the Panorama Gallery (22nd floor) opened the exhibition "Lines of Good".
The honoured collective of the Republic of Belarus, the State Folk Music Ensemble "Sviata" performed a Kaliada program for the staff of the National Library on January 14.
