A workshop “The Virtual Reading Room Information Resources for Education, Science and Innovation: EBSCO and other World Aggregators” was held in the library, on April 10th.

The event was prepared by the National Library of Belarus and EBSCO Information Services – one of the leading world’s suppliers of electronic resources.

The EBSCO director for regional development in Russia, Belarus and Moldova, Andrei Sokolov, acquainted the workshop participants with the EBSCO main collections and the peculiarities of using them. The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) publications and operation algorithms were presented.

Tamila Mirkamalova, the EBSCO coach in Russia and the CIS countries, conducted a workshop on using search tools and databases on the EBSCOhost platform.

The workshop was attended by employees of research institutions, university teachers and professors, postgraduates and undergraduates, and staff of libraries and information centers.

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.

Numerous patriotic and cultural and educational events, scientific conferences, exhibitions, publishing projects, electronic resources and much more will be dedicated to these anniversaries for two years.
