The presentations on the Information Resource “Electronic Archive of National Periodicals” and the “Virtual Values ​​World” were hold on the National Library of Belarus stand within the frameworks of XXV Minsk International Book Fair on March 2.

To be closer to the reader and to meet the requirements of a modern user are important and feasible tasks. In the age of Internet technologies and the constantly growing content (by the way, not always reliable), the National Library of Belarus assumed the mission to be a guide in the world of information, improving the content and forms of its presentation.

During the first presentation, Olga Lukyanova, head of the Development and registration of local electronic information resources section of the Electronic Library Development Department presented to listeners the modernized "Electronic Archive of National Periodicals".

The resource includes full texts of electronic copies of newspapers, magazines and news agencies that appear in the Republic of Belarus. At the beginning of 2018, readers have access to 507 titles (more than 85,000 copies) of Belarusian periodicals.

Tatyana Khodosevich, head of the Special Collections department, told in her presentation “Virtual Values of World” about the multimedia virtual projects, these modern information products of the National Library of Belarus.

Virtual projects represent an important part of the national information space, as they are dedicated to cultural workers of Belarus, book monuments, and also reflects the most important historical events of our country. The most popular ones are: “Classics of world literature Yanka Kupala and Yakub Kolas”, “A virtual journey with Yanka Maur”, virtual project “The Golden canvases soul”.

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.

By this date, the National Library of Belarus is replenishing with new materials the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created in 2019.
